A Crew of One

Background

Dom grew up in Mesquite, Nevada, a small retirement town where the average age sits somewhere around sixty-five and not a great deal tends to happen. He is an only child, three-quarters Black and one-quarter Italian, raised by a mother who never let the family's modest means narrow what he believed was possible for him.

His first dream lived in the kitchen. Between his mom's cooking and a high school class taught by the late Chef Noone, he wanted to become a chef, and the name he creates under today still carries that beginning. Mesquite was a predominantly White, Mormon town, and growing up there as a Black kid meant navigating a steady run of microaggressions and, at times, outright racism. Dom never let any of it make him smaller. He stayed completely himself, and that refusal to shrink is the same instinct that now runs through everything he puts on screen.

Pressing Record

The camera came early. On his second birthday he was handed a Mickey Mouse camera, and by his own account he has not really put one down since. He has kept the same YouTube channel since first grade, and while it has moved through more eras than he can count, the core idea has never changed: he wants to inspire people and to deepen the connection between them.

The early videos were exactly what you would expect from a kid with a camera and no rules. In the summer of 2021 he privated all of it and started fresh with a secret Minecraft channel, where his Bedwars videos found a real audience, eventually reaching eleven thousand followers and a session alongside a member of the DreamSMP. The chapter he is in now began in 2024, with a project assigned for his Geoscience class. Dom is competitive in a way he is happy to admit, so he set out to make the single best video anyone in the room would turn in, and his is still the one the teacher screens for new students every year. By August of 2025 he had moved into the cinematic storytelling he makes today, which is the work he is proudest of.

The Work

For now his home is short-form, on TikTok and Instagram, where his videos have crossed 10.8 million views combined. What makes that figure land even harder is how it gets made, because almost everything across both platforms is directed, written, edited, color-graded, and produced by Dom alone. His most-watched piece so far, a chance exchange titled "our conversation with a random lady in a thrift store," has been seen 3.1 million times, and it distills exactly what he is after: ordinary human contact, framed with enough care that strangers stop scrolling long enough to feel it.

Who's in the Room

Dom's reference shelf is wide. The look and rhythm of his films borrow from movies like Into the Spider-Verse, Fight Club, Do the Right Thing, and Ratatouille. His sense of persona and image draws on Basquiat, Spike Lee, and Michael Jackson. A handful of creators gave him his proof of concept, including his late friend Metronade along with Gawx and Anthony Po, who showed him that the kind of work he wanted to make could genuinely live on the platforms he was using.

Underneath all of it is his mom. She is the one who keeps him going, the one who has backed his strangest ideas from the very start. She and his nana gave him the camera he still reaches for on every shoot. When Dom talks about why he does any of this, the answer is never the views or the numbers. The answer is her.

Why we wanted him here

The Mosaic Bridge Project looks for young artists who are building something honest, and building it largely on their own, and Dom is a clear example of both. He has carried one steady creative thread all the way from a Mickey Mouse camera in first grade to film school in Manhattan, and he has done it while keeping the reason he creates anything at all close to his chest. We are proud to put a spotlight on him, and we have a feeling the work you can watch right now is only the opening scene.
